My DPhil research focuses on chloroplast proteostasis, particularly the role of the ubiquitin–proteasome system (UPS) in protein degradation.
My aim is to explore how the UPS contributes to the selective turnover of chloroplast-associated proteins to ensure protein quality and organelle function. Understanding the mechanisms by which the UPS regulates chloroplast protein dynamics could provide valuable insights into plant resilience and productivity, given the importance of proteostasis in maintaining photosynthetic efficiency and responding to cellular stress.
